Turn Customer Wins Into Proof: The Evidence-First Case Study Interview
This blueprint guides the interview and assembles the resulting story, tying each outcome to a baseline, a time window, and an evidence owner. Fields stay bracketed until validated material fills them — no customer, result, date, metric, or industry is added here.
Headline result
[Validated metric] over [Time period] for [Client name]
Customer context
Establish who is speaking and the environment their answers describe. Confirm the profile before capturing any outcome.
- Confirm the customer identity and how they should be attributed.
- Clarify the interviewee's decision authority over the work described.
- Note the operating environment and constraints that shaped the problem.
Before state
Describe [Problem] and quantify where things started. A result only proves value against a measured baseline.
- Ask how the situation was measured before any change.
- Pin the starting baseline to a number and a method.
- Name who owns the evidence for that baseline.
Turning point
Capture what triggered the decision to change: an event, threshold, stakeholder pressure, risk, missed opportunity, or operational constraint.
The turning point should connect the before-state pressure to the decision to evaluate change. Keep it grounded in what the interview surfaces.
Solution timeline
[Solution] rolled out over [Time period]. Map the phases as they actually unfolded; only the solution and time period remain bracketed.
Evidence ledger
Each row ties a claim to its baseline, time window, validated metric, evidence owner, and evidence link. A claim without all six is not ready.

Quote bank
Quotes should reveal tension or change rather than repeat claims. Keep attributed client language separate from editorial interpretation, and never restate interpretation as fact.
